You can submit your request at https://redcap.dom.uab.edu/surveys/?s=DCHKDW3R4T Antivirus ToolsYour office computer should already have an Antivirus software managed by DOM IT or your primary IT support provider. It’s extremely important to have Antivirus on your home computer as well. UAB IT recommends Microsoft Security Essentials for PCs and SOPHOS for MAC. You can download Antivirus for free from UAB On the Hub website: https://uab.onthehub.com (BlazerID protected). Other Software PackagesUAB offers free or heavily discounted software packages (i.e. Microsoft Office, EndNote, Adobe) for its employees, even for home/personal computers. You can explore the options at UAB On the Hub website: https://uab.onthehub.com (BlazerID protected). Software Renewal Licenses can be obtained from here. NOTE: Please be aware of the licensing terms. Some products offered through UAB On the Hub are only licensed for home/personal systems and cannot be installed on UAB-owned systems. UAB VPNVPN software is necessary for certain UAB core/central applications. You can download UAB VPN from uab.edu/vpn. Installation instructions can be found there as well. UAB's older UABSecureAccess VPN will cease to function on 31-Jan-2021 UAB IT has replaced it with a newer version (called UAB2FAVPN) that will work in conjunction with your Duo two-factor authentication. Users can switch over the new VPN service anytime. At the moment, UAB2FAVPN blocks access to local network devices at your home such as wireless printers. There have been reports of it not working with Telehealth as well. UAB IT is aware of these issues and has plans to remedy them by 29-Jan-2021. Any information related to Campus VPN and this announcement can be found at uab.edu/vpn. HSIS VPNHSIS VPN is necessary for remote access to most HSF financial and/or clinical applications. You can submit your own request for HSIS VPN and RSA token (for two-factor authentication) here. Be sure to ask for a FULL VPN profile. For help troubleshooting your PIN, please visit the UABHS Token Self-Service Console at https://mytoken.hs.uab.edu/console-selfservice/. Multi-Factor AuthenticationUAB IT has adopted DUO multi-factor authentication for their systems. For HSIS systems and the hospital network, you will need two different types: an RSA Token and Microsoft's Multi-factor Authentication (MFA).
As of 19-Mar-2020, the hospital has exhausted its limit of RSA tokens. To request a new (or renew an expired) HSIS RSA Token:
